It's the talk of the town and an event you don't want to miss. Come and join the Savannah Squadron this weekend on River Street!
The Cadets will be working in
conjunction with the Ships of the Sea (www.shipsofthesea.org) and the Coast Guard Auxiliary (http://www.savannahaux.com/). We will be teaching kids (and adults) five different knots: square, bowline, sheet bend, 2 half hitch, and how to tie a cleat.
The knot-tying activity is located just West of the
Waving Girl statue. The Waving Girl stature is toward the East end of
River Street. We are under a large tent sponsored by NOAA, called the
"Ocean in Motion Tent." The tent is located within a larger
area called "Kid's Cove," which takes up most of the entire grassy
area on all sides of the Waving Girl.
